Healthy and High Protein Chocolate Mousse

One of my favorite things about this dessert is that it only takes 10 minutes to make! No chilling, no cooking, it’s so easy. An electric mixer or a stand mixer will make the entire process a lot faster.

This recipe makes the perfect amount for two servings. Serve the mousse in some glass ramekins or some decorative cups and it’s perfect for special occasions like Valentine’s Day or anniversaries.

Since this is a no-bake recipe, you can literally mix all the ingredients together as a last-minute dessert.

Protein Milkshake Healthy and High Protein Chocolate Mousse

This chocolate mousse tastes incredibly light! In fact, it kind of reminds me of a whipped cream topping. It has a really rich chocolate flavor – you will want to eat it slowly, savoring every bite.

If you do store it in the fridge, keep it in an airtight container with a lid. It will stay fresh for about a week.

Notes On Types of Substitute To Use

To make this healthy chocolate mousse, use a confectioner's sugar substitute such as Splenda or Swerve as the granular sweetener will alter the texture and a liquid sweetener will not provide the thickness needed for the mousse to hold shape.

Toppings You Can Add to High-Protein Chocolate Mousse

Take this dessert to the next level – add some toppings. Some of my favorite low-carb toppings for mousse are:

  • Chopped nuts
  • Berries
  • Unsweetened coconut flakes
  • Sugar-free chocolate shavings

You can also use this recipe as a dessert topping for low-carb cupcakes or waffles. Or, dip some apples in it! The options are endless.
