Kinsey's Body Positive Transformation

For me it all with not wanting to be sick and sad anymore. In the beginning, when I was young, my idea of health wasn't healthy - all I wanted was to be thin. I was my lowest weight at 103 lbs at 5'8" tall. I slowly recovered and at around 18 I was upwards of 150lbs; which scared me.

All of my life I was taught to be thin, and I had become very large (in my eyes). On June 1, 2015 I decided to get healthy. Not skinny. Healthy. I started with Kayla Itsines BBG guide and did that for a year and a half, and lose about 15 lbs and gained a lot of strength.

For the past 2 months I've been using a weightlifting guide and got a gym membership at a local women's only gym. It can only go up from here!

1. Balance is key, for me. I enjoy all types of food, and moderate my workouts.

2. Listening to your body, also. If you're sore, rest. If you feel capable, work out. If you need a mental health day, rest.

3. Also, for me, it was key to find my OWN path. It's so easy to get wrapped up within the online fitness world on IG - and truth is, not EVERYONE can look like those women. It's important to be the best YOU that you can possibly be.
